Who Am I (What's My Name)?

Here’s my CV, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Hi!

My name is Gabriel Nagy and I’m a:

• student at graduate of the West University of Timișoara in Romania, as of July 2018
• software developer as an independent contractor ⚙️

Previously I developed software for:

• Nokia (2016-2019), where I:
  • worked extensively with Flask, making static websites and generating interesting statistics using CouchDB views
  • also worked with Buildbot for a while, and based my bachelor thesis on it
  • worked with the pytest framework, migrating old tests to Python and increasing code coverage
  • maintained a BTS O&M component involved in generating technical reports and reporting performance management counters
• Puppet (2019-2022), where I:
  • worked on kick-ass open-source projects like Puppet and Facter
  • owned—together with my team—the Puppet Agent, which we made sure worked properly on dozens of operating systems
  • got the chance to contribute to upstream projects like Ruby itself, and write about the experience

Besides all that, I watch and collect movies, read books, listen to music and play video games (PSN / Steam). It’s a lot of stuff to keep track of, but I try my best to stay afloat. Naturally, posts on this website will revolve around these activities.
